A history lesson the kids shan't forget...

In its conception around 53 AD, London Bridge was a military style pontoon bridge. Londinium (the Roman settlement on the north side of the bridge) and the bridge was destroyed by Queen Boudica's rebel army in 60 AD. But by 300 AD, Londinium was an established city and port, with London Bridge as the gateway to and from the south. Fast forward to 1066 when the Normans invaded, and King William I gave the city a charter to rule itself. Although there were many fires in the bridge’s 2,000-year history – mainly in 1215, 1633 and the Great Fire of London in 1666 – the bridge always rose again to the marvel it is today.

The Guardian Angel Tour

If the little ones or the class want to experience the Tombs but are a little too scared please ask our guides at the entrance of the Tombs for our Guardian Angel tour.

They will be taken ahead of the rest of the group, get to experience the sights and sounds of London Tombs but none of our mad detainees will scare them or chase them so they can still enjoy the full experience without worrying about being scared.

Please note that this is for school groups and the under 16s only.
