Bridge the Gap Art Competition 2010

The London Bridge Experience & The London Tombs are pleased to announce their latest competition, which offers budding artists with the chance to have their artwork exhibited in our famous gallery, The Peter Jackson Collection.

As part of our educational programme, we are asking students to create a piece of artwork, which portrays a modern day perspective of London Bridge. Students are encouraged to gain their inspiration through London Bridge’s extensive history which dates back over 2000 years.

The winning artwork will be exhibited in The Peter Jackson Collection for a period of one year, where it will be viewed by hundreds of thousands of visitors. Additionally a prize of 100 complimentary tickets to visit The London Bridge Experience & The London Tombs will be issued to the winning school and the candidate will be invited to unveil their artwork in a very special ceremony.

The Peter Jackson Collection is dedicated to the life and work of Peter Jackson OBE, who famously dedicated his life to the study of London. In this unique exhibition, students can learn how the bridge has been transformed over the centuries.

Bridge the Gap competition will commence from Monday 4th January 2010 and entries must be submitted by 19th February 2010.

The prize is part of The London Bridge Experience & The London Tombs educational programme which is committed to inspiring young people to get involved with contemporary art and local history. We believe this would be an excellent platform for students thinking about perusing a career in art and design.
